Met this little guy today! A woman called us after he fell from a tree in her back yard during a thunder storm Sunday. North Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitators took him in for the night and placed him back in his tree this afternoon, with hopes his parents will come back! You can check out more about this Great Horned owl and his rescue here on whnt.com! :)

the-b-roll:

Ultra conservative corner in Gainesville.
The sometimes problematic sign in front of National Vacuum. Katty-corner to this sign is a building painted red, white, and blue with a miniature statue of liberty on it.
That car has been outside of that building ever since I moved here to Gainesville like 15 years ago.
Right around the corner from this bastion of conservatism and weirdness is Ward’s, the local hippie Gainesville grocery store. Great beer selection. Local and organic foods. Great barbecue chicken.

Guys, guys, guys. I rarely reblog other people’s work (despite the frequent temptation to do so), but I had to give in to this one! This was just down the road from where I lived when I went to UF and seeing these signs always brought me a good chuckle (or eye roll).
I don’t miss Florida, but I miss the friends, memories, and moments of humor it brought me. This was a goodie. Also, this guy’s work at The-B-Roll is awesome so check it out, wouldya?
